Which customers to target is determined to a large extent by the laboratory's ability to satisfy certain customer expectations. Customers are also one of the essential factors in the success of a business. Without them, there will be no income that's why they are the important ingredient in making a business survive. 

Customers are grouped into 3 market segments with specific but different needs according to their expectations or dimensions of value.

























This may mean offering most sophisticated and specialized laboratory procedures or highly attentive service. This is giving the customers high quality products and services based on what the laboratory could offer best.















Providing a complete package of services designed for a specific type of customer. Each customer have his or her own needs that is different from the other customers. Services should be given based on what the customer only needs in order to avoid miscellaneous costs. 

This may involve concentrating on volume and price. Laboratory costs aren't that cheap. Providing the best total solution comes along with providing best total costs as well. What the customer needs is what he/she should receive. This is to reduce the laboratory costs that may be incurred during the process.
